Dear Parents and Carers,

I am sure that you are all aware of the Government’s announcement to re-open schools to all pupils from Monday 8^th March.  This is great news and I want to work with you to make sure that this is a smooth and successful transition for all children.

Firstly, I want to thank you all for the support you have given to your children’s learning and to the school over this past term.  We know how challenging it has been and the partnership between home and school has never been stronger.  We need this to continue.

Kelvin Grove School will re-open to all pupils on Monday 8^th March (nursery has different arrangements).  The times and entry gates will remain the same as they were before Christmas and are listed below:

Although schools are re-opening the requirement to have measures in place to facilitate social distancing and minimise risk, remain the same.  Please wear a mask at drop off and collection, please be punctual and stick to timings.  We need all children to be back at school from 8^th March.  Unless they are unwell or isolating, attendance is compulsory.

To ensure we maximise the opportunity for learning over the rest of the academic year, sharply focussed plans are in place for all children to meet academic and social targets.  Time in school has never been more precious.  Circumstances may lead to changes in the deployment of staff, especially teachers.  This will only be done when necessary and classes/year groups will be informed of the change where appropriate.

For children currently attending, school will close at lunchtime on Friday 5^th March. This will allow for the school to be properly cleaned and furniture and resources moved in preparation for the full reopening on Monday 8^th March.
