Being back at school has been really welcoming for KG’s Year 6 students. Our starting topic this term is The Mysterious Maya. This topic explores the history of the Ancient Maya and how they lived. Linking with our topic, our English is focussed on the Ancient Maya story, ‘Rain Player’. This book is about a pok-ta-pok (Ancient Maya ball game) player named Pik who angers the Rain God, Chac and must face him in a match.
In Maths, Year 6 has been learning about fractions and decimals. This includes how to use the four operations when calculating fractions and how to order decimals.
