Re: Parent Representatives
A couple of years ago we launched the Parent Reps system at KG. Obviously since the original launch we have had lots of changes, plus COVID, which has meant the Reps system has been somewhat neglected. Therefore we are giving it a relaunch to ensure that all classes have a Rep, that there is good communication within the Reps group and that everyone is fulfilling the role as needed.
The role of a Parent Rep is to act as a further point of communication from school to the parents/ carers in your class, via a WhatsApp group. Typical communication would be reminders of PE days, school trips, payments, etc. The group is also a place to ask any questions that parents may have of each other, such as “Is it Forest School for group A or B tomorrow?” or “My child came home with someone else’s cardigan, please can you check yours?”
Reps groups are not places to discuss individual children or anything about the school itself and we expect all reps to ensure they and others abide by our Code of Conduct.
To be a Rep, we ask that you are organised, friendly and confident in communicating clearly. You will be able to form a good relationship with other parents and teaching staff, and be able to point other parents in the right direction when they have a query. You will also need to be available to meet with the teacher once a term.
