Dear Parents and Carers of Apricot class,

RE: Apricot Class – Parent Representative
We are delighted to introduce you to your Parent Representative: Janine Duffy.
“Hi, for those who don’t already know me I’m Janine, Margot Duffy’s mum. I also have another child, Evelyn, who is in Y5. I work full time in legal publishing, but when I’m not working or ferrying my kids to their various social engagements, I’m also a keen runner – I ran the London Marathon in lockdown raising money for the Kelvin Grove PTA and am due to run it again in 2023. It’s not all about kids and running though – I’m also a keen cook, drinker of wine and absolutely love camping. I’m pretty organised so joining the class WhatsApp group means you’ll be the lucky recipient of 7am text reminders about whether it’s PE or if the kids have to take something into school.”
A WhatsApp group has been created by your rep, for your class. Please click https://chat.whatsapp.com/KGNLRxurTtCAUgp59KHeL4 (via your phone) to join the group.
The role of a Rep is to act as an extra channel of communication between school and home, as well as creating a sense of community and cohesiveness within the class. The groups are also an opportunity for parents to help each other, for example lending wellies for forest school or bringing in extra items for art projects.
Please remember that these groups are for school related matters only. We expect all members of the groups to abide by the Code of Conduct, which can be found here: https://wp.me/pbnXlb-5Ea
You are not obliged to join the group. Obviously, we would like as many parents to join as possible as it’s a great way of keeping up with school life, but we appreciate that not everyone will want, or be able to.
Yours sincerely,
Janine Green (Parent Governor) and Ian Hyde (Head Teacher)
