Dear Parents and Carers of Magenta class,

RE: Magenta Class – Parent Representative

We are delighted to introduce you to your Parent Representatives: Roselind Owusu and Sam Rodney.

“My name is Roselind Owusu, a mother of 3 namely Ephraim in year 2 saffron, Roseanne in Magenta and Davina at Lammas Green Nursery. I am a studying mum redoing my English in London South East College Bromley and starting a course in supporting teaching and learning in schools’ level 2. I am the main caregiver of my husband and I am a fun filled person who is always happy and smiling no matter what with my favourite quote, “Do to others what you want to be done to you.”

“My name is Sam and I am parent to Jaheem. I have a new born so currently on maternity leave but as a job I work with young people. I have worked with younger children also which I love and miss. I am creative and enjoy reading.”

The role of a Rep is to act as an extra channel of communication between school and home, as well as creating a sense of community and cohesiveness within the class. The groups are also an opportunity for parents to help each other, for example lending wellies for forest school or bringing in extra items for art projects.

You are not obliged to join the group. Obviously, we would like as many parents to join as possible as it’s a great way of keeping up with school life, but we appreciate that not everyone will want, or be able to.
