RE: Gold Class – Parent Representative

We are delighted to introduce you to your Parent Representatives: Mariam Ouedraogo.

“My name is Mariam Ouedraogo and I am from a country called Burkina Faso in west Africa. I am a mother of 4 children and a midwife. I have 3 children at the school, with one in nursery and 2 in year 6. Malick, is one of my boys who goes to gold star. I am passionate about children and always willing to support my community. As you class rep, I will try to support and assist you as much as I possibly can.”

The role of a Rep is to act as an extra channel of communication between school and home, as well as creating a sense of community and cohesiveness within the class. The groups are also an opportunity for parents to help each other, for example lending wellies for forest school or bringing in extra items for art projects.

You are not obliged to join the group. Obviously, we would like as many parents to join as possible as it’s a great way of keeping up with school life, but we appreciate that not everyone will want, or be able to.
