Dear parents and carers,
RE: Update to Parents – Spring 2022
Happy New Year to everyone.
You will all be aware of the rising number of cases of COVID-19 in recent weeks. In the weeks prior to Christmas there was a surge of cases across London and our school community. All the indicators show that this is likely to continue for at least the next few weeks.
We all hope that school can remain open to our children. To help us maintain this can I please ask you all to wear face masks unless you have an exemption and to continue to use the designated gates for each year group, at the arranged times. Do not gather before school gates open as this both increases to risk of spreading infection and is also unfair to our neighbours. Can I also ask that you do not sit on the walls of residents gardens or lean on their cars as this is disrespectful and has recently caused some damage.
School days will remain very much the same, teaching starts at 8:45 AM. There will be fewer assemblies as we will not be mixing year groups. Control measures continue to be:
- Good hygiene (including hand washing for everyone)
- Appropriate cleaning regimes
- Spaces well ventilated
- Public advice followed on testing, self-isolation and management of confirmed cases
- Primary aged children not expected to wear face masks
- Staff encouraged to wear face masks in communal areas but not whilst teaching
On your part, could you please ensure that you do not send your child to school if they are ill. If you or any member of your household have COVID symptoms it is recommended that you should use a lateral flow test for your child before sending them into school.
Breakfast and after school clubs will continue to run as before. Please be aware that children do mix year groups, but we try to minimise this where possible. I hope as a community we can continue to work together to ensure the least disruption to the term.
Thank you for your support.
