Dear Parents and Carers of Blue Class pupils,
Re: Blue Class Curriculum – Spring 2 2022
Welcome back! We hope you had a fantastic break. Below I have outlined some key information regarding this term that we hope you will find useful.
Our topic this term is ‘Amazing Animals’. In English we will be focussing on ‘Hair Love’ by Matthew Cherry for World Book Week. We will then we writing a narrative based on the story ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers before writing non-chronological reports on penguins. In Maths some children are focussing on addition and subtraction of numbers within 10, doubling and halving within 10 and to place teen numbers on a number line. Some children are working on multiplication by repeated addition, multiplication by identifying equal groups, understanding arrays and using multiplication to solve problems.
Children will bring home two reading books a week:
- A book banded book suitable to your child’s reading ability, which they need to read aloud to an adult.
- A library book which can be changed each week.
Please read with your child daily. Children’s books will be changed on Fridays.
Your child will be wearing their PE kits all day so please ensure they have the appropriate kit (white T-shirt, dark bottoms), including trainers/plimsols.
The P.E. days are as follows:

Please ensure your child brings to school a filled and labelled water bottle each day.
