Dear Parents and Carers of Year 3 pupils,
RE: Year 3 Curriculum – Summer 1, 2022
Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful break. Below we have outlined some key information regarding this term that we hope you’ll find useful.
Curriculum
Our topic this term is ‘Getting To The Root Of It’. Please take a look at our mind map on the school website for information on our Learning Journey.
Daily Reading
Children will bring home two reading books a week:
- Some children will bring home a banded book suitable to their reading ability, which they need to read aloud to an adult.
- A library book which can be changed each week.
Please read with your child daily. Children’s books will be changed on Tuesdays.
P.E. Lessons
Your child will be wearing their PE kits all day so please ensure they have the appropriate kit (white T-shirt, dark bottoms), including trainers/plimsols.
The P.E. days are as follows:
All Year 3 will have P.E. on these Mondays: 25th April, 9th May, 16th May 23rd May
Uniform
We’d like to remind you that children should not be wearing jewellery (unless it is for religious reasons), including play jewellery apart from stud earrings. Encourage your child to wear full school uniform and please note the weather as it is likely to change on a daily basis and children will need appropriate clothing and possibly sunscreen.
Other information
Please ensure your child brings to school a filled and labelled water bottle each day.
Children should not be bringing in pencil cases or toys from home.
Thank you for all your support, and as always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
