Dear Year 6 parents and carers,
RE: Year 6 Curriculum – Sumer 1, 2022
We hope the children had a relaxing and restful Easter break and are ready for a busy, productive last term at primary school.
As you are fully aware, the children have been working extremely hard towards their SATs. Every school day between now and then is vitally important and we appreciate your support in ensuring that your child is in school every day and on time. Below is the timetable of tests that the children will be sitting. All tests will start immediately after morning registration. These dates and times have been set nationally and cannot be changed for individual schools or pupils, therefore all Year 6 children need to be present during this week and on time.
Monday 9th May 2022 – Grammar Paper and Spelling Test
Tuesday 10th May 2022 – Reading Paper
Wednesday 11th May 2022 – Arithmetic Paper 1 & Maths Reasoning Paper 2
Thursday 12th May 2022 – Maths Reasoning Paper 3
Curriculum:
Our topic this term is called ‘Shocks and Scares!’, with a focus on suspense writing in English and electricity as our science learning. Below is our mind map which shows all the learning that will be covered this term.

PE Lessons:
Due to the bank holidays, our PE timetable will be slightly different this term. Below are the days each week the children will be doing PE:
W/C 18th April – Thursday 21st
W/C 25th April – Tuesday 26th
W/C 2nd May – Thursday 5th
W/C 9th May – Tuesday 10th
W/C 16th May – Tuesday 17th
W/C 23rd May – Tuesday 24th
On PE days, children may come to school in their PE uniform which consists of their red Kelvin Grove school jumper or cardigan, a plain white t-shirt (round neck or polo), grey or black tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
Thank you in advance for your support and we’re looking forward to a fun and productive term.
