In Lavender Class we have been very busy finding out about graffiti and in particular Jean-Michel Basquiat in whole class reading. It has been really interesting finding out about his childhood and how he developed his love of art. We have also been studying a piece of 1980s graffiti art and learning about the colour wheel and tone.
This week we are going on a walk around the streets of Penge to learn about the different graffiti artists that have created their work on the walls of buildings in our local area and sketching them.
In our English lessons we have been reading a book which is written as a poem about an autistic child who dislikes poetry. Through the encouragement of his teacher, he changes his opinion.
