Dear Year 1 Parents and Carers,
RE: Year 1 Seaside weather conditions
As I am sure you are aware, on Monday temperatures at the seaside are predicted to be a high of 30 degrees. In light of this we have put precautions in place.
In order to keep children safe and cool we have:
- Gazebo shade coverage
- Ice cold flannels for cooling down
- Water spritzers
In accordance with government advice, teachers will constantly review the weather conditions and associated risk during the day. Children will be reminded to drink water at regular intervals and we have kept planned activities short, so pupils won’t be in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Please note, If the weather becomes too hot, we will make the decision to return to school earlier than scheduled.
Please ensure your child:
- Has a water bottle
- Has applied sun cream in the morning
- Is wearing sun-smart, protective clothing (e.g. shorts, t-shirt, sun hat)
If you wish, you may pack sun cream for your child. We will also be bringing NIVEA Sun Cream (Factor 50+) with us for any pupils who may need it.
Please refer back here for any additional information – Year 1 – Seaside Trip Information
Please ensure your child arrives ON TIME at 8:10am.
Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside!
Thank you,
The Year 1 Team
