Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,
RE: Year 6 End of Year Arrangements
With the end of term in sight, we wanted to share some reminders and other important pieces of information with you.
Year 6 Leavers’ Performance
Have your tissues at hand – the Year 6 Leavers’ Performance is at 9:30am on the last day of term: Thursday 21st July 2022. It will take place in the Paxton Hall. Please indicate on the slip below how many seats you would like – a maximum of two seats per family is available.
We would like to display a photograph of each pupil at the Leavers’ Performance to show how much they’ve grown. To help us to do this, please email a good quality photograph of your child at either pre-school or Reception age to year6@kelvingrove.lewisham.sch.uk at the latest by Tuesday 19th July, using your child’s name as the reference. The photograph needs to be of your child alone, with their face clearly visible. Close-ups and profile shots would work best. Thank you in advance.
Y6 Leavers’ Party/Disco/Prom!
This will take place on the evening of Wednesday 20th July between 5 and 7pm in the Main Hall. Food and drinks will be provided. Please indicate on the eform below whether your child has permission to walk home alone or if you will come to collect them. If another parent is collecting your child, please state the name of this adult on the reply slip.
‘The Suitcase Project’
Inspired by our whole class reading text, ‘Some Places More than Others’ by Renee Watson, the children are taking part in a ‘the suitcase project.’ The suitcase will feature items that represent them and their life’s journey so far. Please encourage your child to bring in items (nothing that is too expensive or of high sentimental value) to put inside their suitcase (i.e. shoebox!). Some examples include: medals or certificates they have earned, photographs, souvenirs etc. Thank you for your help with this.
Last day of term
As is tradition, children will have their shirts signed on the last day of term. Either is fine, but cotton collared shirts are easier to write on than polo shirts. Please ensure that this shirt is clean and fresh for Thursday – not the one they have been wearing all week – as you won’t be able to wash it afterwards : ) School finishes at 1:30pm on Thursday 21st July – normal end of day collection arrangements apply and there is NO Club Xtra.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s registration teacher.
