Dear Year 1 Parents and Carers,

RE: Year 1 Phonics Meeting

This academic year, we are implementing a new phonics scheme to support your child as they continue to learn to read and write.

We would like to invite you to a meeting to tell you all about our new scheme. We will explain how we teach phonics, how the children learn to apply their new knowledge in order to read and write and how we try to ensure that all children keep up with the pace of learning.

We will also explain what you can do at home to support your child with their reading and writing.

We will be holding two identical meetings, so that as many parents as possible can attend. You will only need to attend one of them. The meetings will be on the following dates:

Tuesday 4^th October at 2.30pm

Monday 10^th October at 5:00pm

Please try to attend one of the meetings, so that you are able to support your child with this crucial stage of their learning journey.

Please come to the main reception of the school when you arrive. We look forward to seeing you then.
