Friday 30th September 2022
Dear Year 5 parents and carers,
RE: Year 5 Trip to The National Theatre – Thursday 13th October 2022
Our Year 5 pupils have been offered a unique opportunity to attend a special talk with the author Michael Morpurgo. This is taking place at the National Theatre to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the publication of his book ‘War Horse.’ Michael and his wife Catherine are the founders of the charity ‘Farms for City Children’ which is responsible for the residential trip to Nethercott Farm, which many of our Year 5 pupils have signed up for.
Michael will lead the talk which will feature images and clips from the film ‘War Horse’. The children will also have the opportunity to be involved in a Q&A with Michael at the end of the event.
There is no cost for this trip.
We will be leaving school at noon, travelling by train and tube to the National Theatre, where we will eat our lunch.
You will need to provide your child with a healthy packed lunch which should not contain fizzy drinks, sweets/chocolate or any nuts due to pupil allergies.
For children in receipt of free school meals or universal school meals a school packed lunch will be provided.
Please pre-order your child’s meal choice below via the form by Tuesday 4th October at the latest – Any forms done after this date will not be accepted.
We anticipate being back at school by 4:15pm, however we will contact you by text on the day to let know if there is any change to this. If you have any further questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
Yours sincerely,
Year 5 team
