Dear Parents and Carers,

RE: Phonics Meeting Rapid Catch Up

This academic year, we are implementing a new phonics scheme to support children to make good progress with their reading and writing. The scheme is taught throughout Reception and Year 1, but it also provides sessions for children in Years 2 – 6 who may need some extra support to develop their reading accuracy and fluency.

We would like to invite you to a meeting to tell you all about our new scheme and the programme of support for Years 2 – 6. We will explain how we teach phonics and how the children learn to apply their knowledge in order to read and write.

We will be holding two identical meetings so that as many parents as possible can attend. You will only need to attend one of them. The meetings will be at the following times:

Monday 17^th October at 2.30pm

Monday 17^th October at 5:00pm

Please try to attend one of the meetings, so that you are able to support your child with this crucial stage of their learning journey.

Please come to the main reception of the school when you arrive. We look forward to seeing you then.
