Dear year 4 Parents and Carers,
RE: Year 4 Times Tables Workshop: Tuesday 24th January at 15:30
Learning the multiplication facts is an important part of the maths curriculum in year 4. Knowing these fluently is essential to unlocking the maths curriculum for the rest of Key Stage 2 and beyond.
Year 4 children are also required to sit a national test which specifically assesses how well children know and can recall these multiplication tables.
This year the test will be administered between 5th and 16th June.
We are holding a short workshop specifically for parents next Tuesday (24th January) to inform you of the test, our school’s approach to teaching times tables, and the best ways that you can support your child at home. We would love for as many parents to attend as possible.
Your child’s class teacher will meet you in the playground after dismissal, and if you are collecting after swimming, a member of staff will bring you up. Children are welcome to attend the meeting as well.
