Dear Parents and Carers,

NEU Teachers’ Strike on 15^th & 16^th March 2023

I have informed you of the ongoing industrial action that the National Education Union (NEU) has voted for, in protest of teachers’ pay and conditions, and school funding.

The strikes are continuing into next week and some of the teachers at Kelvin Grove are members of the NEU, and therefore parts of our school will be closed. Not all classes are closed on both days, please see below for specific closures on each day:

Wednesday 15^th March 2023

Thursday 16^th March 2023

Whilst we are aware of the inconvenience that the strike will cause families, teachers across the UK are asking the Government to listen to their concerns and reconsider their stance to protect education, and enhance the recruitment and retention of teachers.  I am not aware of any further planned strike action at present. I will continue to keep you informed.
