17th April 2023
Dear Y6 Parents and carers
YEAR 6 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO FRANCE – MONDAY 22nd – FRIDAY 26th MAY 2023
Important Final France Meeting – Tuesday 25th April 2023
With time flying by and the summer term already started, we want to take this opportunity to give you plenty of notice of what each child will need to pack so that you have sufficient time to acquire the required items. Attached to this letter is a detailed packing list. Please pay particular attention to the items in bold as some children forgot these essential items last year.
We will hold a meeting next week (Tuesday 25th April) at 3:30 pm to communicate the final itinerary for children and parents as well as answering any questions you may have. It is important that at least one parent/carer per child attends. We will hold the meeting in the Paxton Hall, where we met last time.
As well as the packing list, please note some other important details that will help you as you get your child prepared for the trip:
- STRICTLY NO MOBILE PHONES ARE PERMITTED. If your child is found carrying a mobile phone, it will be confiscated and kept with an adult for the duration of the trip. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
- All children will need some spending money with them. We therefore recommend a maximum of 30 Euros. Please ensure your child has Euros (not British Pounds) as we will not be able to exchange their pounds into Euros whilst in France.
- Each child will need a refillable durable plastic water bottle. Please ensure that this is named.
- Please ensure that the school office has your accurate phone numbers on records in case we need to contact you.
Thank you for the support and enthusiasm you have given this trip. We are really looking forward to the quality time away with your children to build some wonderful, lifelong memories.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Clark, Mrs Cooper, Ms West and Miss Horgan
