Dear Parents and Carers,

NEU Teachers’ Strike on 27^th April & 2^nd May 2023

Over the past few months there has been ongoing industrial action that the National Education Union (NEU) has voted for, in protest of teachers’ pay and conditions, and school funding.

Unfortunately the strikes are continuing into this term and some of the teachers at Kelvin Grove are members of the NEU, and therefore parts of our school will be closed. Not all classes are closed on both days, please see below for specific closures on each day:

Thursday 27^th April 2023

Tuesday 2nd May 2023

Whilst we are aware of the inconvenience that the strike will cause families, teachers across the UK are asking the Government to listen to their concerns and reconsider their stance to protect education, and enhance the recruitment and retention of teachers.  I will continue to keep you informed.
