Dear Year 2 Parents and Carers,
RE: Year 2 Trip to Beckenham Place Park
As part of this term’s topic ‘Soil, Seeds and Sunshine’, looking at living things and their habitats, we will be going to visit Beckenham Place Park. The children will be identifying and comparing different trees and other plants and looking at their habitats.
The trip will be on Tuesday 16th May 2023. We will be taking two buses (202 & 181) from the school to the park in Beckenham. Please make sure that your child is not late for school as we will be leaving soon after registration and we will return to school before the end of the school day.
The children should wear full school uniform and bring a waterproof and warm coat. They will be doing a lot of walking during the day and will need to wear appropriate shoes. Trainers are best if it’s dry but if it’s wet, wellies may be better as we will be walking on grass and in woods. Children will need to bring a refillable water bottle and a small rucksack so that they can carry their own lunch.
The children will eat their lunch at the park.
A ‘school’ packed lunch may be provided for each child upon request via the form below, please pre-order child’s meal choice by Friday 5th May 2023 or you may choose to provide your child with a healthy ‘homemade’ packed lunch which should not contain fizzy drinks, sweets/chocolate or any nuts due to pupil allergies, the packed lunch will need to clearly labelled with your child’s name.
There is no cost for this trip.
For this trip to go ahead we will need a few parent helpers.
