Dear parents and carers,
RE: Year 6 Non-Residential Week
Next week we have a fantastic week planned for the children who are not attending the residential to France. This letter is to give you some information about the week and what children will need on different days.
On Monday we are going on a visit to Forest Hill library. This is part of a reading for pleasure project where children will get a chance to use an app called Flip to produce a blog about their chosen text. We will be walking to and from the library and will be back in time for lunch.
We will also have an anime art project running as well as a couple of sessions writing some short flash fiction pieces that we will share with you on our website.
On Wednesday and Friday the children will be involved in gardening and forest school sessions. There will also be a sports session on both of these days so could pupils come to school in suitable clothes for P.E that they also do not mind getting dirty.
On Thursday, children will be working on a French café project with Mrs Blanks. They will be looking at recipes in French and groups will be making a traditional French dish each. In the afternoon, children will have afternoon tea where they can sample all the dishes made.
We hope everyone has an enjoyable week leading up to a well-deserved half term break.
Your sincerely,
Annabel Shardlow and Tara Magee
