It’s been a busy term already in Copper class.
This term for English, we have been writing our very own biographies about a significant person in history. We chose who we wanted to write about and many of us chose unappreciated historic figures such as: Madam C.J. Walker, who was the first African-American millionaire; Emily Davison, who was a militant suffragette. Everyone was encouraged to do their own research at home so we would be prepared in lessons with more facts and anecdotes about our chosen significant figure.
Theme Park Maths!
For maths this term, we have constructed our very own theme park. In this project we were calculating the amount of money that we could spend on particular necessities and the sum of the profit we would gain. We used coordinate maps to plot the rides and other amenities which would help configure the theme park. No we are researching the prices of tickets to see how we would pitch the price of tickets for our theme parks. It’s been a real eye-opener about how much planning and working out goes into a business!
Swimming
We were so excited to finally have our swimming lessons at Forest Hill Pools! Instructors led our sessions and taught us multiple water-related movements such as: floating, backstrokes, front crawl, making bubbles, breathing during front crawl and life-saving techniques. Some of us had never been before and we are all very proud of the progress we made!
