RE: Y3J Trip to the Black Cultural Archives – Monday 10th July 2023.
Year 3 will be going on a school trip to the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton as part of our topic ‘Windrush’. The expert-led session will include the historical background of the Windrush generation and key historical events in Black British History. They will have an opportunity to handle objects and discuss the experiences of the passengers from the ship.
Jade Class are having their session on Monday 10th July 2023. They will be leaving the school at 9.00am and returning by approximately 2.00pm.
You will need to provide your child with a bottle of water and a healthy packed lunch which should not contain fizzy drinks, sweets/chocolate or any NUTS due to pupil allergies, the packed lunch will need to be fully disposable and in a named carrier bag.
For children in receipt of free school meals a school packed lunch may be pre-ordered via the permission slip below, any lunch orders placed after this date will not be accepted.
If it is sunny, children must come to school with a sunhat and appropriate shoes on the day. Please apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school. Please check the weather on the day as they may need a waterproof coat and we will be going, whatever the weather.
Please do let your class teacher know if you would be available to join us on this trip.
