Dear Parents and Carers,

NEU Teachers’ Strike on 5^th & 7^th July 2023

Over the past few months there has been ongoing industrial action by members of the National Education Union (NEU). This is in protest of teachers’ pay and conditions, and school funding.

Unfortunately the strikes are continuing into this term and some of the teachers at Kelvin Grove are members of the NEU, and therefore parts of our school will be closed. Not all classes are closed on both days, please see below for specific closures on each day:

Whilst we are aware of the inconvenience that the strike will cause families, teachers across the UK are asking the Government to listen to their concerns and reconsider their stance to protect education, and enhance the recruitment and retention of teachers.  I will continue to keep you informed.
