YEAR 6 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO FRANCE – MAY 2024
Dear Year 6 parents and carers,
Following the success of our first residential trip to France in May 2023, we are excited to share with you the details of next year’s trip that we are offering to Year 6 pupils.
Dates: Monday 20th – Friday 24th May 2024 inclusive (5 days; 4 nights)
Location: Normandy, France
Who: Year 6 pupils only
Cost: £420 per pupil
Our trip is being facilitated by Travelbound: a company who specialise in organising residential trips abroad for schools. The children will be accompanied on this trip by their Year 6 teachers and other Kelvin Grove staff members.
As part of our itinerary, the children will enjoy a number of rich cultural experiences including: a visit to Mont St Michel, Arromanches town (including the beach), a caramel factory (including tasting!), shopping for ingredients at a traditional French market and then preparing lunch with that they’ve bought. They will also view the historic Bayeux Tapestry. As well as this, the children will have the invaluable opportunity to practise their spoken French and to use foreign currency. We will stay together in a beautiful historic house called Chateau du Molay. We will help to prepare the children for the trip through our curriculum French lessons. We would love as many children as possible to go.
Following this meeting, we will schedule another meeting for interested parents and carers to confirm payment details, future meeting dates and other information relating to the trip. If you are certain that you would like your child to attend the trip, please secure a place by paying a £40 deposit on our SCOPAY system.
