Dear Year 2 parents and carers, 

RE: Butterfly House at Horniman Museum 

Year 2 will be going to the Butterfly House at the Horniman Museum on Monday 9^th October 2023. 

We are visiting the Butterfly House as part of our ‘Let it Grow’ topic, where we learn about animal lifecycles, including the butterfly life cycle. We will also take the opportunity to look at some of the other animals on display on the ground floor of the museum. 

We will be going for the morning, and returning after lunch. We will walk to and from the museum. The children will need to wear full school uniform, with a warm, waterproof coat and appropriate footwear. 

Your child will require a healthy packed lunch, which should NOT contain fizzy drinks, sweets or NUTS (due to pupil allergies). You can provide your own ‘homemade’ packed lunch or pre-order a ‘school’ packed lunch, please can we have your order by Monday 2^nd October. 

The cost of this trip is £3.00 per child, which should be paid on SCOPAY / Trips & Events prior to the outing. 

We require support from parent helpers to maintain the appropriate ratios for an educational visit. We’ll be leaving school at staggered times in the morning, and returning after lunch. It is essential that we have parent support to take each class on the trip. Please speak to your class teacher or alternatively email on year2@kelvingrove.lewisham.sch.uk as soon as possible.
