Dear Parents/Carers,

I am currently undertaking my Primary PGCE (teacher training) at the UCL Institute of Education. I have been working with Cobalt Class as part of my teacher education course since October 2023.

As part of my Geography and Sustainability subject specialism, I have to undertake research.  I am interested in exploring the links between geography and history and looking at ways to develop children’s understanding of both subjects through blended planning. I will be teaching the History lessons for the next five weeks alongside Miss Januario who has supported me to include geographical elements to the Romans planning that has been completed by the year four team.

No video or audio recordings will be taken, and transcriptions of the sessions will be used for this work only. Photos of children’s work will be taken ensuring that there are no identifiable markers to link it to the child.

Any reference to schools’ or individuals’ names will be anonymised so that they will not be identifiable. The outcome of this project will be submitted for assessment, following a presentation to my tutors and colleagues. Any data collected will be destroyed once the module’s outcome is known.
