Dear Cerise Parents and carers,

RE: Animals, Pond, River, Sea Workshop – including a visit to the Aquarium

To launch our ‘We are environmentalists’ topic, Reception classes will visit Horniman

Museum to take part in an educational workshop.

Cerise class will be attending on Tuesday 16^th April and will walk to and from the museum.

We will have some time before the museum opens to explore the garden and other parts of the museum. Each class will attend a workshop and visit the aquarium.

As we will be walking to the museum as well as spending time in the gardens, please make sure that your child brings a waterproof coat and comfortable shoes. Children will also eat their lunch at the Horniman.

There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip please speak to your child’s class teacher.

If you would like to pre-order a FREE school packed lunch for this trip, you must complete the online form below by Friday 15^th March 2024. This is to ensure that the kitchen staff have sufficient time to order in the correct food.

Alternatively, you can provide your child with a home-made healthy packed lunch which should NOT contain fizzy drinks, sweets, or NUTS (due to pupil allergies). Lunch needs to be fully disposable and in a named carrier bag.

The cost of the trip is £3.50 which should be paid on SCOPAY / Trips & Events. If you haven’t activated your SCOPAY account please contact the school office.

We need and would love some parent volunteers to come with us and enjoy the day. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you are able to join us.
