In Rainbow Class, this half term we are learning about different plants and trees and how they grow. In Science, we have been exploring what plants need to grow and the best conditions for them. We have already planted sunflower seeds and will keep a record of their growth in our sunflower diary. We can’t wait to see how tall our sunflower will grow!
In Geography, we are looking at our school environment and have started using maps to move around the school. We will even have a go at drawing our own map of the Kelvin Grove area.
Within the last week, we have learned a great deal from the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. As we read the book, we discussed the story’s setting and how we knew where it took place. We also, talked about the various fruits in the story and which ones we had tried and enjoyed. Furthermore, we talked about maintaining a healthy diet since the hungry caterpillar ate many foods that made his stomach ache!
