YEAR 6 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO FRANCE – MONDAY 20th– FRIDAY 24th MAY 2024
Next and final meeting before departure – Monday 22nd April 2024
Dear Year 6 parents and carers,
With time flying by and the summer term nearly upon us, we want to take this opportunity to give you plenty of notice of what each child will need to pack so that you have sufficient time to acquire the required items. Attached to this letter is a starting packing list. Please pay particular attention to the items in bold as some children forgot these essential items last year.
We will hold a meeting on Monday 22nd April at 3:30pm to communicate the final itinerary for children and parents as well as answering any questions you may have. It is important that at least one parent/carer per child attends. We will hold the meeting in the Paxton Hall, where we met last time.
As well as the packing list, please note some other important details that will help you as you get your child prepared for the trip:
- All children will need some spending money with them. We therefore recommend a maximum of 35 Euros. Please ensure your child has Euros (not British Pounds) as we will not be able to exchange their pounds into Euros whilst in France.
- Please ensure that the school office has your accurate phone numbers on records because emergency contacts need to be up-to-date ahead of the trip.
During the meeting, we will provide further details including:
- Personal items that your child can bring (and what they cannot).
- The final itinerary as well as departure and arrival times
- What they need to have in their “day bags” on the day of travel
- Expectations around conduct on the trip.
We would like to thank you your organisation in getting passports and Health Insurance Cards (GHICs) in good time for the trip. If you still haven’t given them to the school for photocopying, then please do this as soon as possible.
Thank you for the support and enthusiasm you have given this trip. We are really looking forward to the quality time away with your children to build some wonderful, lifelong memories.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Clark, Ms West, Miss Horgan and Miss Hudson
