Dear Parents and Carers,
RE: Year 1 Trip to Devonshire Road Nature Reserve
As part of our ‘Let it grow ’ topic, Year 1 will visit the Devonshire Nature Reserve in Forest Road to take part in an educational workshop.
- Amber Class will visit on Tuesday 7th May 9:30am – 2:00pm
- Coral Class will visit on Wednesday 8th May 9:30am – 2:00pm
All classes will leave school and travel by bus and we are planning to walk back to school. We will have some time to explore the Nature Reserve as well as attend an educational workshop.
As we will be walking to the Nature Reserve as well as spending time , please make sure that your child brings a waterproof coat and comfortable shoes.
Children will eat their lunch at the Nature Reserve so please make sure they bring a clearly labelled packed lunch with them. If you would like to pre-order a FREE school packed lunch for this trip, you must complete the online form below by Monday 29th April. This is to ensure that the kitchen staff have sufficient time to order in the correct food.
Alternatively, you can provide your child with a home-made healthy packed lunch which should NOT contain fizzy drinks, sweets, or NUTS (due to pupil allergies). Lunch needs to be fully disposable and in a named carrier bag.
If you are able to support with this trip please could you let your child’s class teacher know.
The trip costs £5.00 per child and payment can be paid via SCOPAY.
There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip please speak with your child’s class teacher.
Thank you,
Ms Abey and Mrs Daniel
