Dear Parents/Carers,

In order to help you to support your child during Year 1, as they progress with their reading and writing, we are holding a meeting for parents about phonics.

During the meeting we will explain how we teach phonics, how the children learn to apply their new knowledge in order to read and write and how we try to ensure that all children keep up with the pace of learning.

We will also explain what you can do at home to support your child.

We will be holding two identical meetings, so that as many parents as possible can attend. You will only need to attend one of them. The meetings will be on

Tuesday 19^th November at 9.00am – 9.30am

Friday 22^nd November at 9.00am – 9.30 am

Please try to attend one of the meetings, so that you are able to support your child with this crucial stage of their learning journey.

Please remain in the main playground after dropping your child to their respective classes and a member of staff will guide you to where you need to go. We look forward to seeing you then.
