Dear Parents/Carers,
RE: Children’s Mental Health Week: Monday 3rd – Friday 7th February 2025
Next week, we will celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week with the theme Know Yourself, Grow Yourself. This year, Place2Be’s initiative joins forces with Here4You, supported by The Walt Disney Company, to highlight the importance of self-awareness and emotional expression. Through the beloved characters of Pixar’s Inside Out and Inside Out 2, the week’s activities will encourage children to explore their emotions, deepen their self-understanding, and build resilience for improved emotional well-being.

As part of the week’s activities, children will:
- Create a Badge/Rosette: Each child will design and make a badge/rosette to highlight an achievement they are proud of this year, celebrating personal growth and accomplishments.
- Star Magnets: In partnership with the PTA, children will paint wooden star magnets in the colour of a chosen emotion, inspired by Disney’s Inside Out 2, to promote emotional expression and understanding.
We will conclude the week with a celebratory Cake Sale and a Ribbon-Tying Event for lost loved ones, where children and families can come together to reflect on the importance of mental health and build connections within our school community.
These events and activities will be showcased on the school website to celebrate the children’s work.
To support the week, we are also fundraising for St Christopher’s Hospice, Young People’s Bereavement Service – Candle, a charity that does incredible work supporting children’s mental health and has had a positive impact on our school community. If you would like to contribute, cash donations will be accepted in school throughout the week, or you can donate online via Jaheem’s fundraiser here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/jaheems-candle?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
Thank you for your continued support in making this week meaningful for the children.
