Monday 10th February 2025
Dear Lavender Class parents and carers,
RE: Young V&A Museum Trip – Monday 3rd March 2025
To launch the learning of our topic next term: ‘Treasured Tombs and Fascinating Pharaohs’, Lavender Class are visiting the Young V&A Museum on: Monday 3rd March 2025
The children will have the chance to explore over 200 items on display in the gallery as part of the new Making Egypt exhibition. With interactive elements and hands-on activities, they will journey from ancient times to the present day, discovering how Egyptian stories and imagery continue to shape art, design, and popular culture.
There is no cost for this trip.
We will be leaving school promptly at 9:00 am, taking the Overground from Sydenham Station to Whitechapel and then taking a bus to the Young V&A Museum. Please ensure that your child is in school by 8:45 am as we are unable to wait for latecomers. We hope to be back by the end of the school day, but if delayed we will inform you by text message.
There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip please speak to your child’s class teacher.
If you would like to pre-order a FREE school packed lunch for this trip, you must complete the online form below by Friday 14th February 2025. This is to ensure that the kitchen staff have sufficient time to order in the correct food.
Alternatively, you can provide your child with a home-made healthy packed lunch which should NOT contain fizzy drinks, sweets, or NUTS (due to pupil allergies). Lunch needs to be fully disposable and in a named carrier bag.
Your child will need to wear school uniform, school shoes and a waterproof coat.
Thank you for your continued support
Mrs Cooper
