Dear Y2 Parents/Carers

RE: Y2 Trips to London Fire Brigade, Forest Hill Fire Station

Our topic this term is ‘Out of the Ashes’ and all Y2 classes will be learning about The Great Fire of London. As part of this topic, we will be visiting The London Fire Brigade in Forest Hill on the following dates:

Saffron Class – Friday 20^th June 2025

Cinnamon Class – Thursday 3^rd July 2025 (am)

This trip will support the children’s understanding of fire safety.

We will catch the 197 bus to Forest Hill station and then the 185 bus to Stanstead Road. We will return to school before the end of the school day. If our return is delayed we will contact you via text message. 

Please ensure your child arrives at school on time on the day of the trip, as we will be leaving promptly after registration and will not be able to wait for latecomers.

The children will need to wear full school uniform and trainers or appropriate walking footwear (please no sandals or wellies!).

Children will need to bring a waterproof and warm coat with a hood. They will also need to bring a small rucksack so that they can carry their refillable water bottle. The children will eat their lunch at school.

There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip please speak to your child’s class teacher.

On this occasion, we will not be needing parent helpers.
