Dear Parent/Carer of Violet Class,

RE: Trip to Royal Observatory, Greenwich on Monday 14^th July 2025

As part of our creative curriculum, Year 5 will be going to Greenwich Observatory. Whilst there, the children will enjoy a range of activities including an educationalist-led workshop and a visit to the Planetarium show.

The children will be taking the bus from school to the Observatory. Please ensure your child is in school at 8:40am as we will be leaving promptly. We will return before the end of the school day.

The cost for this trip is £6.00 per child. Please pay on SCOPAY TRIPS & EVENTS.

There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Your child will need a filled water bottle for the trip. If you would like to pre-order a free school packed lunch for this trip, you must complete the online form below by Tuesday 1^st July 2025. This is to ensure that the kitchen staff have sufficient time to order in the correct food. Alternatively, you can provide your child with a home-made healthy packed lunch which should NOT contain fizzy drinks, sweets, or nuts (due to pupil allergies).

Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing for the weather and a coat or rain jacket if the weather forecast predicts rainy or cold conditions.
