Dear Year 1 Parents and Carers,

RE: Key Dates for Winter Events

As we approach the festive season, we are pleased to share our upcoming Winter Events for parents and children. We hope you will be able to join us in celebrating the children’s learning and the wonderful community spirit at Kelvin Grove.

Here are the winter events taking place for Year 1 this term:

Year 1 Events

• Parent Phonics Workshop: Tuesday 25^th November, 9:00am – 9:30am. Parents and carers are invited to this workshop to share key information about Year 1 phonics and how to support your child at school.
  
  
• Year 1 and Year 2 Winter Show: Tuesday 16^th December, 2:00pm – 3:00pm in the Main Hall. Parents and carers are invited to attend. Due to limited space, we kindly ask that only two people per child attend. Where possible, please leave buggies at home to help us manage space safely and comfortably for everyone.
  Please note the slightly early time of 2:00pm
  
• Class Party: Both Year 1 classes (including the children in Rainbow Class) will have their parties on Wednesday 17^th December, children can wear party clothes or festive jumpers. Snacks and party food are welcome, but they must be nut-free (e.g., no Nutella or Kinder Bueno hazelnut).
  
  

Whole-School Dates

• School Winter Fair: Friday 5^th December, 3:15pm – 5:00pm
  
• Official Christmas Jumper Day: Thursday 11^th December, children are invited to wear Christmas or festive jumpers in support of Save the Children’s Official Christmas Jumper Day.

• KG Christmas Dinner & Jumper Day: Wednesday 17^th December, if your child is normally packed lunch and you would like to book a Christmas dinner, please let the office know as soon as possible. Children are invited to wear Christmas or festive jumpers in school on this day.

Some children who access their learning in Rainbow Class may take part in different ways or may not join the main school performance. Your child’s Hub class teacher will discuss the most appropriate option with you. Children in Rainbow Class will host a separate Sing-along event for parents, a date for this will be sent separately.
