Year 4 had a brilliant time visiting Surrey Docks Farm as part of our “Farm to Fork” topic. Surrey Docks Farm is a working city farm on the south bank of the Thames in Rotherhithe; with goats, sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, a pony, and lots of gardens, orchards and wildlife areas.
We learned so much about where our food comes from and what happens every day on a real farm. Each class visited on different days (and in different weather!), but the favourite part for almost everyone was feeding the goats and getting up close with the farm animals. It was wonderful to see nature in action, from the friendly goats to the garden plots and animal pens, right in the heart of London. We loved being outdoors, getting hands on, and discovering a working farm close to home.
