Dear Parents and Carers of children in Year 5,

RE: Temporary changes to the Year 5 team in January 2026

As part of the programme of Continuing Professional Development that all teachers undertake throughout their career there will be some temporary changes to the Year 5 team from January 2026.

Mrs Khan will be undertaking a six-week professional development placement in another primary school setting. During this period, we will make some temporary adjustments to the Year 5 organisation. For the duration of Spring Term 1, January 6^th 2026 – February 13^th 2026, Year 5 will move to a two-class structure.

Under this arrangement, alongside the two classes, smaller focus groups will be delivered by Kelvin Grove teaching staff to provide targeted support and challenge in each subject. This approach will ensure continuity of learning and allow us to meet the needs of all pupils effectively during Mrs Khan’s placement.
