Dear Parent/Carers of Year 3,
RE: Trip to the Natural History Museum – Thursday 15th January 2026
As part of our creative curriculum, next term Year 3 will be going on a school trip to the Natural History Museum, London as part of our topic ‘Quakes and Shakes’. The teacher-led tour will include exploration of the museum, where children will have the chance to observe exhibits, discuss their ideas, and record what they see through drawings.
We will also have the opportunity to attend a Dino Dig workshop led by museum staff.
There is a charge of £3.50 per pupil. If you are able to make payment, please pay via SCOPAY.
We will be leaving school promptly at 9.00am using public transport to get to South Kensington Station. Please ensure that your child is in school by 8.35am as we are unable to wait for latecomers. We aim to be back by the end of the school day, but should we be late, we will inform you by text.
There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip please speak to your child’s class teacher.
If you would like to pre-order a FREE school packed lunch for this trip, you must complete the online form below by Wednesday 17th December 2025. This is to ensure that the kitchen staff have sufficient time to order in the correct food.
Alternatively, you can provide your child with a home-made healthy packed lunch which should not contain fizzy drinks, sweets, or nuts, Nutella or Kinder Bueno hazelnut (due to pupil allergies). Lunch needs to be fully disposable and in a named carrier bag.
Your child will need to wear school uniform, a waterproof coat and appropriate shoes on this day, as we shall be going whatever the weather.
We need parent helpers for each class for this trip to go ahead. If you are available to help, please contact the School Office.
Thank you.
Year 3 Team
