Dear Parents and Carers,

RE: Year 4 Class Changes

We are writing to inform you of some upcoming changes to class groupings within Year 4, which will take effect from this coming Monday, 2^nd February 2026.

From Monday, your child will be in Turquoise Class with Miss Saglam. This means that some children will be moving to a different class as part of the wider year group reorganisation. Your child will swim with their new class; please refer to the separate letter sent out for all swimming dates and information.

These changes have been made following careful consideration, to support high quality learning and positive outcomes for all children across the year group. By adjusting class arrangements, we are better able to balance learning needs, support positive classroom dynamics, and ensure that every child is well placed to thrive both academically and socially, and create balanced groups for swimming.

While children will be in these new registration classes, the Year 4 team will continue to work collaboratively as a whole group. There will still be plenty of opportunities for the children to mix and work alongside each other in different sessions, in classes and in sets, maintaining their broader friendships and peer relationships.

We recognise the importance of friendships to children’s wellbeing, and these have been considered as part of the decision-making process to support a smooth transition.

The Year 4 team will provide appropriate support to ensure that children feel secure and confident as they settle into their new classes. Based on our experience, we are confident that the children will adapt well and quickly benefit from the opportunities these changes provide.
