Dear Parents and Carers,
RE: Update Regarding Year 4 Class Arrangements
I would like to begin by apologising for any concern or uncertainty caused recently about proposed changes to Year 4 classes. We appreciate your openness in sharing your feedback and want to reassure you that we have listened carefully to the concerns raised.
After taking parents’ views into consideration, we have decided to pause any whole-class movement for children in Year 4. Over the coming weeks, there may be individual class moves for some children; however, these will always be discussed with parents on an individual basis to ensure that any decision made is the right one and is in the best interests of the child involved.
In the meantime, all children will continue to swim with their current class. The confirmed swimming dates are outlined below:
Cobalt Class will swim daily from Monday 9th February up to and including Friday 13th February 2026 and after the half term will go daily from Monday 23rd February up to and including Friday 27th February 2026.
Azure Class will swim daily from Monday 2nd March up to and including Friday 6th March 2026 and from Monday 9th March up to and including Friday 13th March 2026.
Turquoise Class will swim daily from Monday 16th March up to and including Friday 20th March 2026. and from Monday 23rd March up to and including Friday 27th March 2026.
Children in Year 4 Green and Blue classes will begin weekly swimming lessons after half term. These sessions will be tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. Further details, including exact dates and times, will be shared in a separate letter once arrangements with the pool have been fully confirmed.
During the two-week swimming period, children will attend swimming lessons daily and will be walked to and from the pool by school staff, who will remain with them throughout the lesson. Each session runs from 2.00pm to 3.00pm. All children will be collected from school at 3.30pm, not from the swimming pool, and we appreciate your understanding if changing takes a little longer during the first few days.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. We appreciate your understanding and ongoing cooperation as we move forward together to support the children.
