Dear Year 5 Parent/Carers,

RE: Y5 Local Trip – Penge Graffiti Art Walk

As part of our creative curriculum, Year 5 will be taking part in a local walk from school through Sydenham and into Penge to observe and sketch examples of local street art.

The visits will take place on the following dates:

Lilac Class will go on Thursday 2^nd July
Lavender Class will go on Friday 3^rd July
Violet Class will go on Monday 6^th July

During the walk, the children will explore the local area, stopping to view a range of street art. They will also make two extended stops to sketch in their art books before returning to school.

Please note that there has been a slight change to the dates outlined in our curriculum letter. Year 5 classes will now take part on different days. However, all children will have lunch at school as usual.

The children will be accompanied by school staff throughout the visit and, on this occasion, we will not require any parent volunteers.

As the walk will take place in all weather conditions, please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the forecast on the day.

There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
