Dear Year 3 parents and carers,
RE: Year 3, Horniman Museum Trip – Monday 14th September 2026
As part of this term’s topic, Stones and Bones, Year 3 will be learning about prehistoric artefacts. To support this work, they will visit the Horniman Museum and take part in a specially designed workshop exploring the Prehistoric era.
The school has successfully secured bursary funding from Horniman’s to cover the cost of this trip, so there will be no cost to parents/carers.
We will be leaving school promptly at 9.30am, walking to The Horniman Museum. Please ensure that your child is in school by 8:45 am as we are unable to wait for latecomers. We will return before the end of the school day.
There is no requirement for schools to ask parental permission for trips that take place within the school day. However, if you have any concerns about your child attending this trip, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
If you would like to pre-order a FREE school packed lunch for this trip, you must complete the online form here by Friday 4th September 2026. We apologise for the short turnaround and appreciate your understanding. This is to ensure that the kitchen staff have sufficient time to order the correct food.
Alternatively, you can provide your child with a home-made healthy packed lunch which should NOT contain fizzy drinks, sweets, or NUTS or Nutella (due to pupil allergies). Lunch needs to be fully disposable and in a named carrier bag.
As we will be going whatever the weather, your child will need to wear school uniform, school shoes and have an appropriate coat.
We will need parent helpers on this trip, if you are able to attend, please contact the School Office or speak to your child’s class teacher.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Nandhra-Calow, Ms Whyte and Miss Saglam,
Year 3 Team
