Year 5 Iroko Theatre Workshop – Thursday 10th September 2026

Friday 4^th September 2026

Dear Parent/Carer of Year 5 pupil,

RE: African Storytelling and Dance Day – Thursday 10^th September 2026

We hope you and your family had a restful summer.  We are starting the year with a topic about Africa and have a fantastic event planned for the children.

As part of the launch for this term’s topic ‘Into Africa’, an exciting event has been arranged for the children.  All children in Y5 will have the opportunity to work with IROKO, an African storytelling production and workshop company based in London (www.irokotheatre.org.uk). The children will experience an interactive performance and a workshop focusing on dance which will take place over the course of the morning, broadening their understanding of African cultures and traditions.

Photographs of the day will be posted on the school website after the event.

For this event, we ask for a contribution of £5 per child. If you are able to make a contribution payments can be made in ParentMail.

Thank you,

Mrs Cooper, Mrs Khan and Mrs Clark
