Dear Parents/Carers of Year 6 Pupils,

RE: Year 5 Lower Treginnis Residential Trip Parent Meeting – Thursday 1^st October 2026

As announced last term, we are pleased to confirm the details of a five-night residential trip for Year 5, which will take place during the Summer Term from Monday 21^st June – Friday 25^th June 2027.

This year, for the first time, the children will be staying at Farms For City Children’s Lower Treginnis Farm in Wales. This residential will provide a unique ‘learning through doing’ experience of life on a real, working farm. During their stay, children get involved in all sorts of jobs around the farm. Children work in teams, supervised at all times by a grown up from the school and a member of farm staff. Jobs on the farm can include:

• Collecting eggs • Feeding lambs and calves • Mucking out horses • Grooming donkeys and ponies • Beekeeping and birdwatching • Milking goats • Feeding cows, pigs, poultry and sheep • Planting and harvesting in the kitchen garden • Checking the health of livestock in the fields

It’s truly a wonderful week away, helping children build their independence, resilience and make life long memoires with their friends.

We will be holding a parent meeting on Thursday 1^st October at 3:45 pm at school to provide more details about the trip and payment arrangements, and to answer any questions you may have.

Trip Details:
Date: Monday 21^st June – Friday 25^th June 2027 inclusive (5 days; 4 nights)
Cost: The full cost for this trip is £400 per child. There is a discounted price for those who are eligible for Free School Meals (means tested).

Full payment will need to be made before 7^th June 2027.

The trip will be available to book via ParentMail from Monday 5^th October, at 10:00am, with a £50 non-refundable deposit required to secure your child’s place. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis once deposits are paid.
