Dear Parents and Carers,
RE: Into Film Festival 2026 – Wednesday 18th November 2026
As part of the Into Film Festival 2026, Year 4 will have the exciting opportunity to enjoy a special screening of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ at the West Norwood Picturehouse on Wednesday 18th November.
This year, Into Film are aligning with the National Year of Reading, in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, with a focus on book adaptations and literary titles. Our chosen screening links with this theme, providing Year 4l with an opportunity to see a much-loved story brought to life on the big screen.
You can watch the trailer for the film here.
As the trip takes place within the school day, there is no requirement for schools to obtain parental permission. The film is rated PG; however, please contact the school office as soon as possible if you do not want your child to attend the screening.
There is no cost to families for this trip. We will leave school promptly, travelling by Southeastern train from Sydenham Station to West Norwood. Please ensure that your child is in school by 8.45am, as we are unable to wait for latecomers. We will return to school before the end of the school day.
If you would like to pre-order a FREE school packed lunch for this trip, you must complete the online form here by Monday 2nd November 2026. This is to ensure that the kitchen staff have sufficient time to order the correct food.
Alternatively, you can provide your child with a home-made healthy packed lunch which should NOT contain fizzy drinks, sweets, or NUTS or Nutella (due to pupil allergies). Lunch needs to be fully disposable and in a named carrier bag.
As we will be going ahead whatever the weather, your child should wear school uniform and school shoes and bring an appropriate coat.
We will need some parent helpers for this trip, if you are able to attend please contact the school office or speak with your child’s class teacher.
We are very excited to give the children this opportunity to experience this year’s Into Film Festival, and we hope they will thoroughly enjoy the experience.
