RE: Secondary Transfer Information

Thank you to all those who attended our recent meeting about the Secondary Transfer process. I greatly appreciate your time and hope you found the guidance, key information, and opportunity for questions helpful.

For parents who were unable to attend, it is very important that you are fully aware of how the application process works. To support you, I have included below the key information that was shared at the meeting. You will also find further details, including key dates, on our school website here.

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), please remember that the application deadline is earlier than for other pupils. Please arrange a meeting with Ms Hicklin, who can guide you through the process and ensure everything is completed on time.

I am also available to meet with parents to provide further advice or reassurance about the process. Please contact the School Office to arrange an appointment at a time that works for you.

It is our priority to ensure that every family feels supported and confident as they take this important step in their child’s education.

Lewisham Transition to Secondary School Event

Lewisham are holding an informal event for parents to ask questions about the admissions process and to meet staff, parents and students from our secondary schools. This event will be in Lewisham’s Civic Suite with 3 sessions on Monday 22^nd September 2025. Talks will concentrate on the application process and there will be many local secondary schools in attendance on hand with information. We encourage all parents where possible to attend.

Important dates for Secondary School Admissions

Important dates for the admission process for children starting secondary school in September 2026.

Applications

• schools open for visits: September/October 2025 (please check on school websites for up-to-date open day/evening information)
• applications open (apply online): Monday 1^st September 2025
• If your child has an EHCP their application should be submitted by Friday 19^th September 2025
• closing date for applications: Friday 31^st October 2025 ( as this date falls within the half term we recommend that you submit your online application by Friday 24^th  October 2025)
• closing date for supplementary forms (if required) to be returned to the school directly: Friday 31^st October 2025

Offers

• results for on time applications: Monday 2^nd March 2026 (you will get an email in the evening telling you where your child has been offered a place)
• deadline for accepting your offer: Monday 16^th March 2026 (If you applied via the eAdmissions website you must accept the offer online – you should keep a record of your login details)

Appeals

• closing date for appeals for community schools in the borough: Monday 30^th March 2026 (admissions authorities of other schools may set the same or a later deadline)
• appeal hearings: May-July 2026 (if you submit an appeal after 30^th March 2026, it may not be heard until the start of the academic year in September 2026
