Secondary School Information
When your child is in Year 6 you will be asked to choose a secondary school for the next stage of your child’s education. Parents will be given advice and support from us, as well as from the secondary schools and the Local Authority. The school will hold a meeting for all Year 6 parents at the start of the Autumn term to explain the application process and answer any questions. Our headteacher is available to meet with parents to support them to complete the application process and our admissions officer runs drop in sessions to help with the online process.

The brochure provides details of Lewisham’s secondary schools together with information about the admission arrangements and how to apply for a place. Transfer to secondary school is an important step for both you and your child and we would advise you to gather as much information as possible to help you make the right decision when selecting which school to nominate on the application form.
To further support parents going through the secondary application process this year, Lewisham Council have produced this short video.
All schools hold an open evening and many offer the opportunity to visit during the school day. It is important that you take the time to visit as many schools as possible. If your child has a statement of Special Educational Needs the arrangements for your child’s transfer will be different. The SEN Services Team will contact you directly to explain the process further. You should also arrange a meeting with the school’s Assistant Head for Inclusion to discuss the options available.

Key Dates
The closing date for online applications is 31st October 2022, although Lewisham suggest that applications should be submitted by 24th October 2022. The closing date for supplementary forms is 31st October 2022. Parents are notified by email of their chosen school on 1st March 2023. Children will be invited to an induction day at their chosen school in July.
